Create a one-of-a-kind cake stand using thrifted finds and beautiful decorative plates. Erin and Kelli show us step-by-step how to create custom stands and surprising new ways to style them in your home.

Tiered Serving Tray

List of Supplies: 

  • Two plates (found at thrift stores)
  • Candle stick
  • Hot glue gun

How-to:

  1. Choose which plate you want to use as the base, make sure it’s larger or same size as other plate used for the top.
  2. Glue candle stick in center of plate.
  3. Glue additional plate on top.

DIY Cake Stand

List of Supplies: 

  • Tall crystal vase (found thrifting)
  • Scalloped basket (found at home store)
  • Hot glue gun

How-to:

  1. Flip basket upside down to create a flat surface.
  2. Glue onto center of vase to secure the basket.
  3. Great for serving cakes.

DIY Serving Platter

List of Supplies: 

  • Clear round vase
  • Lemons and limes (Ingles Markets)
  • flowers (Ingles Markets)
  • Serving Platter

How-to:

  1. Fill vase with items themed to your decor or celebration. In this case we used flowers, lemons and limes.
  2. Place serving platter on top for a unique and elevated serving option or decoration
