Tomato Season Celebration | The Southern Table – Episode 215

We’re celebrating the southern tomato season! Erin and Kelli set the southern table with a touch of farm freshness including charming themed decor and easy, delicious appetizers for your guests

Table Decor

List of Supplies: 

  • Variety of tomatoes from Ingles Markets
  • Baskets (thrift store)
  • Checkered table cloths, we layered both greens and reds
  • Terra-cotta pots
  • Red and white plants from Ingles Markets

How-to: 

Set the table by first layering the green and red linens. For our place setting we used themed tomato plates we found at a home store, but a mix of white dishes with red and green linens is also a beautiful option.

For the centerpiece, we used terracotta pots filled with tomatoes and small plants from Ingles Markets. For a more high end option, you could fill large baskets with plants and tomatoes for a more statement look!

Caprese Cups

Ingredients:

  • Marinated mozzarella and tomatoes (Ingles Markets Deli)
  • Fresh Basil

How-To: 

Simply scoop a serving size of salad into cups. You can add some fresh basil leaves if desired. We tied coordinating ribbon around the cups and added an appetizer pick for serving.

Tomato Crostini

Ingredients: 

  • Fresh baked crostini’s from Ingles Markets bakery
  • Pico de Gallo from Ingles Markets Deli
  • Fresh herb of choice, we used basil

How-to:  

Add a layer of the crostinis to the bottom of a large platter. Add a scoop of the fresh pico on top. You can garnish with fresh herbs or even drizzle balsamic glaze on top.
